To All My New & Beautiful Friends!!!

Hello Everyone!! My name is Heidi....and I am an addict. After a very turbulent ride through life - from troubled adolescence up into my adult years, experiencing early motherhood, substance abuse, mental health issues, unfortunate loss & grief, and a series of traumatic life events, I have successfully devoted myself in these last few years to rebuilding a life not only that I am proud of, but one that has been filled abundantly with a magnitude of achieved milestones & blessings.

I have been a contributing factor in the statistical numbers regarding homelessness, juvenile homes, criminal convictions, and long-term incarceration lifestyles. This is my testimony; and one that I have willingly shared with others in the hope of making an impact.

Through countless years of treatment, inpatient services, outpatient services, behavioral management programs, continued education, and peer support, I have cultivated a passion and desire for sharing what I have learned along my journey with all of you! I believe that by sharing these lessons and the strategies that worked for me, I can inspire and empower others to take that first step towards recovery. My desire to help others find the same freedom and fulfillment that I have discovered is what drives me. I am committed to being a beacon of hope, a source of support, and a guide for those who are seeking a way out of the darkness of addiction.

No one should ever feel like they have to face similar challenges on their own. We all can relate on some level. Kindness and compassion can make all the difference in most circumstances.

I have mentored others within both the NA and AA communities. I have worked a 12-step program, and I have completed numerous rehabilitative and behavioral modification programs including but are not limited to: The Taylor County Drug Treatment Court Program (2019), and Adirondack Leaderships Expeditions (ALE)(2011) I have completed curriculums in Thinking for a Change, DBT, MRT, and CBT therapies.

I am currently in the process of working towards achieving my degree in SUDC (Substance Use Disorder Counseling) through Northcentral Technical College. I am an active Peer Specialist and mentor. I hold certifications and completed trainings in Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’S), Assessing the Chronically Suicidal, Peer Support as a Catalyst for Harm Reduction, as well as Supervising Peers with Multiple Lived Experiences.

I am creative and bold in the things that I am passionate about. My main goal is to be effective in risk prevention, and just overall reestablished self-worth success stories! I hope you will choose to join me and start your miraculous journey!
